JMIR-Paper about User Needs of Cystic Fibrosis Patients published

22.05.2018

In the EU-funded research project MyCyFAPP, YOUSE is responsible for the User-Centred Design of a self-management App and a Game App for children and teenagers with Cystic Fibrosis and for their parents. In the beginning of the project, a requirement analysis was conducted in 7 European countries with 74 patients, parents and health professionals.

Together with the technical partners in the project, YOUSE now presents the results of this requirement analysis in the „Journal of Medical Internet Research“ (JMIR)  under the title „User Needs in the Development of a Health App Ecosystem for Self-Management of Cystic Fibrosis: User-Centered Development Approach”.

The paper mainly focuses on important factors in everyday life, affecting the care of persons with CF. Furthermore, the way CF care is delivered today and the limitations of CF care services are highlighted. These aspects are the basis for answering the main research question: “What digital support has the potential to usefully support persons with CF and their caregivers in the CF care?”
